Here is another photo from a little photoshoot with my brother. I like the photo because of the composition and the way he has positioned himself. I didn't know how to edit the image so I just manipulated simple things on the image such as the brightness and the curves of the image. I gave him the idea to look at the camera because he was often looking away so I wanted him to try something different. If I had more time, I would have gone to a different location such as a park or even a forest to get a different result from this one.

Last week, my family and I went to Epsom Downs Race Course in Surrey for an engagement party. My little brother wanted some photos taken so I thought I would try to get some good shots for the blog and work on my portraiture skills at the same time. I love this shot. He was a bit shy at first because he hasn't really modelled for me before but as time went on he got a bit more confident and even started to think of poses himself so it made it easier for me. What I like about the shot is that, he is positioned in the centre of the frame but he isn't making direct eye contact with me or the camera. So when people see this image, they will look at him and try to figure out where he is looking or why he isn't looking at me or the camera. I decided to add the vignette to this image because I thought it looked a bit simple but after adding the effect, the image just stood out more to me and I really like the shot.

Although this is similar to another image which I blogged about, it is different due to the composition of the buildings and the building in front of Big Ben was cropped in the last image. I enjoyed walking around London seeing the beautiful sights of attractions such as: London Eye, Parliament, Big Ben, The Shard etc. It was a good day not the best for photography wise but nevertheless I got some great shots and would love to do it again but in a different city to explore and see the sights. When in London you will find most of the pictures you take are architecture and that's because most things to see in London are the architecture that represents London. I didn't get a chance to go see Buckingham Palace but that would have been another sight to see. I am not to sure where I would go next but I would love to mix it up from architecture. I took this image in different ways to get different results, and I loved them all. I decided to play with the vibrancy, levels and curves etc to bring out the bold colours from the buildings.

I know this image isn't the best quality, but I edited it as much as I could and it is a really nice shot from the Shard. Before the edit, there was a lot of glare from the window reflection, so I had to edit the highlights and tone of the image by using the blending options and using an overlay to sort the different layers. I then flattened the image and this is the final result. I wish I could have a better quality image but it didn't work out but thats okay because I am happy with my work. I am running out of images, so a new photoshoot will be taking place soon but I am not too sure what it will be just yet. I wanted this picture to work because of the Gherkin. This was the closest shot of it and the building is just fantastic, So either way I would post this picture but I did make it as good as I could.

Another shot from the shard! This is very similar to the last image but just a bit more zoomed in. The image is great but if I could there would be a lot more that I would want to change. For example, I would want the weather to be much better, I would want a really sunny London with clear blue skies so I could get a fabulous shot of the London cityscape. I would also try go at night because this shot and the night time shot would be a lot more different. I am running out of shots from my London shoot, so I will be going through them again to see if I missed anything out. I had to manipulate the levels, curves and vibrancy to give the image a better effect and as it was a bit underexposed due to the lighting conditions in the building. I would recommend anyone to go visit the shard when in London to see the beautiful city from the highest building in Europe.

The views from the Shard! This is only one side of the view you can get and this wasn't taken at the highest floor of the building. It was an absolutely fantastic place to be to relax, drink champagne and look at the beautiful scenery of Central London. You can see everything from the top including the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Parliament and more. In my pictures, there will be a lot of reflections from the windows, I will try my best to edit them out but it was impossible not to get the reflections in. Even though it has reflections in, the pictures are still amazing in my opinion, it was the view that is so beautiful and I ended up staying there for an hour just relaxing and looking out towards the beautiful scenery. Of course it would be better in the night time as London would be lit up and this is my next goal to go up the shard at night and look at the beautiful cityscape!

I have always wanted to try do some car photography. Being in London, I thought I would see a lot of super cars or cars that I could photograph. I didn't see anything except for this Porsche Carrera 911. It is a beautiful car, but the colour stood out more to me. So I thought I would photograph it and try sometime different rather than my usual landscape photos. I love it because it is different and the first time I did car photography. This was taken outside the Shard in London, luckily I got to see the car before I left the city. I would love to do more of this type of photography but there aren't many amazing cars to see in Leicester, but if I do see a really cool car, I would photograph it and blog about it!

Another shot from below the shard, this shot was all about the composition and how I placed the building in the frame. I think it is a fabulous shot because you can see all the detail from the building. I think I perfectly framed the shot because of how the building is placed and composed. I took a series of images like this one, this one may be my favourite, if there was one thing I would change about this, would be the sky. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best and I feel that if there were blue skies, this shot would be amazing. It would really show that this was taken in Summer and just have a bigger impact on the overall image.

Taken from the bridge towards the London Eye, I thought I would capture a wide angle shot of Parliament and Big Ben. It is an amazing image which I am proud of. I also decided to add a tilt shift blur at the bottom of the image because I wanted Parliament to be the main focus of this specific image. I also think it adds an effect to the image which makes the architecture pop out and stand out to the viewers. Parliament is a massive building so it can be quite hard to get a close up of the building especially when you don't have much time. This image does the opposite. A close up can be quite interesting but so can a wide angle and long range camera shot. The picture works well due to the surroundings. This one image sums up London and it is a fabulous image. There may be similar images already taken but this image sums up my work and how I like to capture things, it shows my composition skills.
