Leicester Fitness and Recovery!

Leicester Fitness and Recovery - Photographing Lamine Kaba and Rendall Munroe!!

For my university project, i have based my final major project all around sports. This includes both action and portrait shots. My main focus was to capture the university sport's teams. However, I had a few timing issues with the teams and couldn't capture the majority of what I wanted. Then I got a response from the Leicester Fitness and Recovery owner, who works with sporting clients such as Lamine Kaba, Rendall Munroe and Wilfred Ndidi!

This was huge for me. This was my way forward for networking and an opportunity to get myself known within these sports athletes. I was meant to photograph three of the clients, however, Wilfred had pulled a back injury during the game before the day of the photoshoot and therefore had to pull out of the session.

First up was Lamine Kaba. All i can say is he is such a funny dude, down to earth and made my job a lot easier. Not only is he a great footballer, but he makes a great model too, giving me loads of poses and opportunities to photograph him. I got some amazing shots and you can see them down below.

Next up was the boxer, Rendall Munroe. He was such a funny dude too. Made me laugh from when he had arrived at the fitness centre. He was working hard for these photographs and as a boxer, he is used to the hard working routines to get in shape. He also gave me an opportunity to go capture some of his sparring sessions, which I may have to go to.

All in all, it was an amazing day and a great opportunity. Go check out the instagrams of the sports centre, lamine kaba and rendall munroe!

New York Round 2!

New York - Round 2

I got the opportunity to go to New York once again with my university - De Montfort University. The last time I went, I loved it so much that I had to go again and would recommend anyone that has the chance to take it. There is so much to do, however, since we had a short period of time, I decided to do a few things which I couldn't do last time. Once we landed and got to the hotel and freshened up, we went to times square and went to eat. My friends and I decided to go to Planet Hollywood for food, which was amazing. The atmosphere was just as good as the food. We then wondered around times square before heading off to the hotel as all of us were still jet lagged from the 7 hour flight.

The next day, we went to a few galleries and walked on the highline. After going to the galleries, we went back to times square for some shopping. Of course I had to do shopping, last time, I didn't get to do as much shopping as I wanted to. We also visited one of the biggest photography stores around, where I decided to buy myself an Instax Polaroid camera. I have always wanted one for some time and thought since it would be cheaper in America then why not.

Next Day, we went to Central Park, Guggenheim Museum. Last time, I went to Central Park, we went during the night so we couldn't fully experience the beauty of the park. The museum was full of beautiful art work including work from Picasso.

Next Day, we went on the famous Brooklyn Bridge. I did go last time and it was amazing. It was a long journey from each end of the bridge but the sights you see are just breathtaking. We then went to the spot for the Instagram photos where you could see the two bridges. After a while, we decided to go to China Town as we didn't go last time. It was okay, it's different but there wasn't a lot to see although it was a much different experience. Next we went onto the Staten Island Ferry. I've always wanted to see the Statue of Liberty, even though we were quite far, it was just amazing to see in person rather than in the films. Next we went up to the top of Rockefeller Centre. We went up during the evening time, although the weather was quite gloomy, it was still an amazing experience to have witnessed. Seeing the Empire State Building and other sights from the top was just inspiring and relaxing. It definitely is something to do when in NYC. To end the day off, I had to go to Macy's. I went there once last time and loved it due to a lot of designer clothing being really cheap. I bought one tee for the day since everyone was tired.

For the final day, I went back to Macy's to browse more and ended up buying a Calvin Klein Tee and an Amarni Exchange tee. After that, there was a photography exhibition by two of the Impractical Jokers from the TV Show. I love the show and I love photography so I had to go down there to see what work they had exhibited. I even ended up meeting Brian Quinn also known as 'Q'. It then meant our time in New York was coming to an end. We had to be back at the hotel to wait for the coach before our flight.

It was another amazing experience. I loved it. The weather wasn't as good as last time since it was freezing, raining and windy. That didn't stop me from living my best life in the 5 days i was there. My favourite moment this time was either going up the Rockefeller or meeting Q from Impractical Jokers, who had some amazing work. It was a big honour meeting him as one of my favourite people from TV.
