New York Trip - The City That Never Sleeps!

I got the chance to visit 'The City That Never Sleeps' also known as New York! Watching many films and tv shows filmed there, I have always wanted to visit. When I got accepted to go, I was absolutely delighted!

Here are my favourite shots from the trip, which includes Henry the dog!

I have got to say, if I ever got the chance to, I would definitely go again. Going to Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building and also Ground Zero/World Trade Centre, I definitely had the trip of a lifetime.

Many of the people there were so friendly, it definitely felt different than being in England. Their food was stunning, the best had to be the $1 Pizza which you wouldn't expect for the cheap price.

I got the chance to invest in a new prime camera lens for my 700D, which I didn't use due to I needed a longer lens to capture images especially from the top of the Empire State Building. I also purchased some new Jordan's and a Tommy Hilfiger top (which was ridiculously cheap, go to Macy's if you visit!)

The hotel was stunning, the lobby was incredible, although the rumours of the hotel to be haunted still yet to be known. I roomed with my mates from the course, and on the opening night, just drank the champagne I ended up winning on the plane! (Made the trip even better).

My favourite highlight has to be the day I visited Ground Zero and went up the World Trade Centre. I ended up going with my roommates, course mates and a friend from 3rd year. Ground Zero was incredible, due to the emotion that lays there, it makes everything feel more surreal. Then going up the World Trade Centre at night was incredible too. Seeing the magnificent city from the top was beautiful. I couldn't get the best pictures as my camera isn't too good in dark conditions, but seeing it was more than enough for me.

I also visited a few galleries, which were incredible, but I really enjoyed just walking around everywhere, exploring a new city, and getting out of England really was enjoyable.

DMU VS UOL - Varsity - 12.03.18

De Montfort University vs University of Leicester

DMU 1-2 UOL

DMU VS UOL... The big varsity game. I was asked to come along once again to photograph the game. Little did I know, the match would be rainy, cold and a lot of fights (including one red card).

Unfortunately DMU lost 2-1 after getting one back from the penalty spot, but it seems UOL were too good for the DMU team. Second half saw DMU play a lot much better but were definitely unlucky to lose the game especially after the DMU Goalkeeper had made some fantastic saves.

The match was full of fights, incorrect decisions from the referee and full of support from the crowds. The match had followed from the DMU vs UOL women's match who won on penalties after a stunning comeback from 2-0 down! I have to say both matches were entertaining and would definitely recommend anyone who goes to the Universities mentioned to go watch their teams.

DMU Men's 3rd and 4th Football Team

I was asked to come along to the home game of the DMU Men's football team, where they play at Beaumont Park in Leicester. For the first time I took out a Canon 300mm lens which is an amazing lens for sports photography. Like last time, I used a fast shutter speed, allowing me to capture the fast movement of the players. I didn't realise I would be capturing two football games until we got to the arena, so I came up with the idea of photographing the 3rd team first and then the 4th, I also captured shots of both teams in training and getting ready for the matches.
